Summer Suppers - click here for schedule - We need persons to prepare food, cook, serve and clean up. You have given us great support in the past and we hope that you will continue to do so. Check the signup sheets in the atrium weekly to see how you can be of assistance.
Be An Organ Donor - Give the gift of Music!! Please show your support for the music ministry by contributing to our "Organ Donor" Fund. We need to raise $91,000 as soon as possible and we need YOUR SUPPORT.
Missions Corner - Missions/UMW - For the month of August we will be collecting school supplies for Operation Blessing. Items to be collected - 15 oz. Size of Canned Vegetables: Green Beans, Peas, Carrots, Corn, Mixed Vegetables.
Preschool - Apples for the Students - Our preschool needs your support! Please register your Giant Eagle Advantage Card for our school. Petal Power - workshops will begin Wednesday, September 8th at 1:00-3:00pm in order to make silk flower decorations to be sold at the Bazaar. Also, please consider making and donating a hand-made item to our Balcony Bazaar Shop. Call Janet Dates or Becky Schaub if you can help.
Little Disciples - will begin on Wednesday, September 8th from 5:30-7:00pm. All families are welcome to join us as we meet informally on the second Wednesday of each month from September through April. We gather at 5:30 in Fellowship Hall for a pot-luck meal, enjoy fellowship while the kids do a craft, then meet for a brief worship service in the sanctuary. This year's theme is entitled: Sharing God's Love in Our Community. Mark your calendars now for this awesome opportunity to gather with other families in our church! More information to follow...
Rally Day - is September 12th! The children's Sunday School Rotation will begin that morning promptly at 9:15. The kids will also sing Vacation Bible School songs during the 10:30 service, our 3rd graders will receive their Bibles. Join us as we kick off another great year of learning and growing together in Christ! Ladies Bible Study - will begin on Thursday, September 23rd from 12:45-2:00pm. Our study guide is Men of the Bible by Ann Spangler and Robert Wolgemuth. We meet weekly through May. Each week is a new topic and our discussions are lively. All ladies are invited. Call Becky Schaub to order a study guide book by September 2nd or if you have any questions.

Bazaar Update - Mark these dates on your calendar! - The 2010 Bazaar will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010. The Great Turkey Dinner will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010.
Willing Workers - will meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in 2010 from 9:00-12:00noon.- Thank You to all who have donated material for Prayer Quilts and Christmas material for ornaments, aprons, decorations and other crafts. If you have new ideas for items we could make for the Bazaar please come and join us, or call Jean Stryffeler or Esther Ewing.

Name Tags - If you are interested in getting a name tag to be worn during church services and church functions such as the Turkey Dinner, Bazaar, Fish Fry, etc., please see the sign-up sheet in the fellowship hall during the month of September. Any questions, see Lois Swartz.

Membership Care & Evangelism - Need A Ride Program provides transportation for church members who are unable to drive. If you are in need of transportation, call Kay Love. 24-hour notice is appreciated.
Prayer List: If you would like to request prayers for persons who are ill, grieving, etc., please call Ceil Gill. Prayer Request Cards are available in the pews. Let us remember in our thoughts and prayers the members of our congregation and our friends who may be ill, shut-in, or bereaved.
Altar Flowers - Did you know? That you are permitted to place flowers in two vases on the altar in memory or in honor of someone - almost any Sunday through the year??? There are many Sundays open. You may secure a date by calling Sharon Stamp. Then write a check for $35 to Canfield United Methodist Church marked "flowers" and drop it in the offering plate.
Church DVD Ministry - The Church DVD Ministry is a free service offered to any and all members who are unable to attend Sunday worship because of short or long-term illness or other possible restrictions. DVD's of every Sunday worship service throughout the year are recorded and copies are available to those who request them. Call Kay Love for this service. DVD's will be delivered for one week or many weeks. Programs of the service can accompany the DVD, and hymnals for hymns are also available.
Note to hearing impaired - This facility uses the DRAKE Audio Accent Assistive Listening System to ensure clear audio to all participants. Personal audio receivers are available for individuals with hearing impairments. If you need assistance, please request an usher to help you.
Ministry Opportunity - There is a need for persons who would be willing to spend a couple of hours on a periodic basis with homebound members. If you have time available during the day, and would be interested in this ministry, please contact the church office.

Pray for Our Military - Pray for persons in the Armed Forces. You can help your church lift up those serving in our Armed Forces. If you have loved ones in the military, we ask you to submit their names to the church office. A picture would be even better. We will collate these and have handouts available for church members to take home.
